    Explanation of recent downtime
Recent visits to this site may have been met with an "account suspended" notice. Well, the cause was sinister and the reason very lengthy - read the full story. The quick summary is that my old web host tried to scam me and I had to leave for a reputable company. You can never be too careful, and I was not careful enough. As I type this, Kelley is on her way to St. Louis for the Joyce Meyer conference. Other than this scam problem, everything has been going pretty well. The Lions are 2-0 and Michigan finally won a game. The Tigers are just about out of the playoffs, though. Stardust was an amazing movie, by the way, see it when you have the chance.

    This summer is just nuts
This summer has been the busiest I can remember and it is not slowing down anytime soon. Since the last update, we went to a pool party, had three large gatherings at our house (one was a BBQ), went to an all day concert event for the 4th of July, several movies, and we just got back from a weekend at Ranch Camp Timberlake, 130 miles West of Omaha. It was a great time that included a camp fire, friends, pizza pies, s'mores, an obstacle course, horseback riding, swimming, the blob, a water slide, and some amazing church services. It was awesome. The summer is not over yet, though, much more is to come. This website is coming along nicely; the picture database is up to 900 pictures, and I added a Contact Us form to make feedback easier. Look for the ability to comment on pages and rate photos soon.

    Vacations are exhausting
Kelley and I recently got back from a vacation to Ohio to attend her brother's wedding and gosh, it was exhausting. We drove over 20 hours there and back, went to an amusement park, a baseball game, a museum, and a wedding during the course of five days. To read more about the details of our trip, check out this blog entry. We also got new cell phones, Kelley had a group lunch with ConAgra's CEO, I got moved to a new office and found out that I missed my next promotion. It was pretty close, though, and my first time trying - almost no one makes it on the first time - so I am ok about that. This summer is going to be very busy, but I am going to try and keep up with updates as best I can. Wish me luck and drop us a line sometime!

It has been far too long
I can not believe it has been nearly 4 months since my last post. So much for having more time after I graduate! Over the last week I have been working on a redesign of the website - look for that to go live very soon. I am in the process of making this website run off of a database instead static HTML. We had a nice birthday party for Kelley earlier this month - see the picture of the month. We are now the couples' small group leadership apprentices for our church, The River. Check out that link to see the website I am creating for the church as well. There will be more frequent updates from now on, I promise.

    Finally finished
We are finally finished. Finally finished with college classes at least. Kelley and I finished up our classes for our Bachelors degree about 10 days ago. It was very trying and mentally exhausting, but we made it. I am looking to spend a whole lot more time on this website getting it up to date. I am so far behind it is silly. Look for hundreds of new pictures and plenty of new features in the coming weeks and months.

New addition to the Flees family
We love our cat Bonus so much that we wanted him to have a friend. DJ and I adopted a black kitten on October 7th. She is just two months old and her name is Fumblina AKA Fumble. We are slowly adjusting to this new addition. We are truly blessed. The family is staying busy as we finish up our last course for our degrees. We are counting down the days and will officially graduate on January 20th.

    120 inches of awesome
Check out the picture of the month for August - that is a 120" home theater screen powered by an Infocus IN72 projector. We are loving it. Our basement is transforming into the gathering place we have envisoned it being. Watching football and movies, and playing computer and video games is an entirely different experience now. We only have a little more than 3 months of school left as well - we are so excited!

    We moved!
Yes, that is right; DJ and Kelley are proud home owners! The move went great. The Lord truly blessed us. Bonus is adjusting well. He was scared of every little noise at first, but has found some favorite spots and we know where to find him if we want. Send us an email if you need our new address. I am visiting Ohio for the weekend. I look forward to seeing my family and friends, but most importantly Buckeye. I love that dog.

    Playing the waiting game
It has been more than a month since our offer on the house was accepted, but it still seems like forever until we move in. We must continue to hurry up and wait. Kelley is doing well at her new job and we continue to do well in school, though. The picture of the month for April is a visualization of what a male child of ours would look like. We got it done in one of those special picture machines at a Dave and Busters around here. Yet another reason why we might not have kids - don't you think he would be freaky looking?

Our house and Kelley's new job
Holy cow! We found a house we want, we made an offer, and after some negotiations, we are buying a house! It is an awesome house! It has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a 2 car garage, a back deck, 2295 square feet, lots of storage space, and a huge finished basement. It is in a nice neighborhood fairly close to both of our workplaces. You can see the countdown to when we close on it to your right. Go look at some pictures of it at the bottom of this page. Until the listing comes down, you can see more on the house here. Speaking of work, Kelley just found out today she has been hired on to a new job at ConAgra Foods. It is closer to home, a more interesting and challenging job, and pays over $2 more an hour than her previous job. What a blessing!

    Work and School
I start a full-time job on January 23rd. I will be working at Interpublic Group (www.interpublic.com). I will be an Invoice Spot controller. This job is a step up for me. I have been searching long and hard for the right job and I found it. I can wear jeans every day. It should be a good fit for me. Starting a new job is one of the most stressful things people go through, so I am not looking forward to that part. All the more so because DJ and I are still plugging away at our bachelor's degrees and starting today, I am taking an Advanced Excel course through a local community college online. This will start me towards a Computer Applications Certificate. We are also helping out with our church so we are staying very busy. Pray for us, we need it.

    Notre Lame!
That is right, the Ohio State Buckeyes put a thumpin' on Notre Dame in the Fiesta bowl. It is sad to see football go. School is keeping DJ and I busy. I am also still trying to find full-time employment. I am being picky. I want to enjoy my work. It is important to me. DJ and I are also getting more involved with our church. We are a part of a couple's small group and have made some friends. We look forward to what God has in store for us this year. It should be a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

    Going home!
I am happy to share that I am leaving Nebraska soon to visit family and friends in Ohio. I must admit though that I am mainly going home to see my dog Buckeye. GO BUCKS against 'that team up north'. It is a spirited household as the game approaches. DJ and I are watching the game at a neutral site. We thought it would be wise to have others around so no one gets hurt depending on the outcome of the game. I am passing the time in Nebraska searching for a job and meeting people through our new church. We will share more about that church soon.

    Random updates
I am really hoping to have a lot of updates over the next few days, and expect this post to be edited with those as they arrive. I have just put up a new blog section with my first blog entry. My college class requires me to come up with a questionnaire on the usability and quality of this site. Along with that, I am going to add a what's new section, a map of where Kelley and I have lived and visited, and expand other setions. One note on fantasy sports, Kelley recently won our last fantasy baseball league. I finished first in the regular season, but alas, that did not translate into a playoff victory.

    Schoolis in full force
Kelley and I have dived into school full-time at the University of Bellevue (probably a good reason why this is the first post in almost two months). We are finally getting into some sort of routine here in Nebraska. Kelley has a part-time job that is working out well for her and providing us a nice financial boost. I want to welcome my fellow college students who will be visiting this website (as it is now my class project). Please look around and enjoy. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Thank you for stopping by.

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. - 1 John 5:4-5 NIV
