    Work and School
I start a full-time job on January 23rd. I will be working at Interpublic Group (www.interpublic.com). I will be an Invoice Spot controller. This job is a step up for me. I have been searching long and hard for the right job and I found it. I can wear jeans every day. It should be a good fit for me. Starting a new job is one of the most stressful things people go through, so I am not looking forward to that part. All the more so because DJ and I are still plugging away at our bachelor's degrees and starting today, I am taking an Advanced Excel course through a local community college online. This will start me towards a Computer Applications Certificate. We are also helping out with our church so we are staying very busy. Pray for us, we need it.

    Notre Lame!
That is right, the Ohio State Buckeyes put a thumpin' on Notre Dame in the Fiesta bowl. It is sad to see football go. School is keeping DJ and I busy. I am also still trying to find full-time employment. I am being picky. I want to enjoy my work. It is important to me. DJ and I are also getting more involved with our church. We are a part of a couple's small group and have made some friends. We look forward to what God has in store for us this year. It should be a good one. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

    Exercise
This topic usually makes people turn their heads. It is something that people know they should do, but not always do we do what is best for us. DJ and I recently purchased an elliptical for our house. We are pleased with it. We no longer have excuses not to exercise. We can watch whatever we want on

    Sports Disappointments
Sports can produce some mighty crushing disappointments at times.

The University of Michigan football team lost its fifth game of the year on December 28th in the Alamo Bowl against Nebraska. The five losses were by combined 21 points: by 7 to Notre Dame at home; by 4 to Wisconsin on the roa

    Ohio State Football
I grew up in Ohio. I lived there for 25 years. I try to visit whenever I can. My family is big into football. So by default, I grew up watching football especially the Buckeyes. I remember going over to my dad's friend's house and watching the game. At first, I would watch the game upstairs by myse

    Magic: The Gathering
Magic: The Gathering is a collectible card game where you build customized decks out of various sets of cards and then pit that deck against other players and their decks. You win by either reducing your opponent's life to 0 or by running him or her out of cards. It is rather easy to learn, but incr

    Going home!
I am happy to share that I am leaving Nebraska soon to visit family and friends in Ohio. I must admit though that I am mainly going home to see my dog Buckeye. GO BUCKS against 'that team up north'. It is a spirited household as the game approaches. DJ and I are watching the game at a neutral site. We thought it would be wise to have others around so no one gets hurt depending on the outcome of the game. I am passing the time in Nebraska searching for a job and meeting people through our new church. We will share more about that church soon.

    Job Searching
I must say that I am frustrated about searching for a job. I know there are many jobs out there. Many companies are hiring. There are many factors one must consider when searching for a job. I personally do not want to work for a place that is very far from where I live. I want to be challenged, but

    Final 2005 Baseball Thoughts
Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox for winning their first World Series in 88 years. I am not very surprised that the Sox won it, but I am shocked that it was a sweep. With all the pitching that Houston has, one would have thought they could at least get a game, especially at home. They just g

    Video Games
I love video games. I have ever since my first experiences with my friend's Atari 2600 back in the early 80's. I remember going to mall with my mom and hanging out in the arcade watching people play Super Mario Bros. and Paperboy while she shopped. The real beginning, however, is when my friend, Joe

    Random updates
I am really hoping to have a lot of updates over the next few days, and expect this post to be edited with those as they arrive. I have just put up a new blog section with my first blog entry. My college class requires me to come up with a questionnaire on the usability and quality of this site. Along with that, I am going to add a what's new section, a map of where Kelley and I have lived and visited, and expand other setions. One note on fantasy sports, Kelley recently won our last fantasy baseball league. I finished first in the regular season, but alas, that did not translate into a playoff victory.

    The 2005 Baseball Playoffs
Well, here it is, the much delayed debut of my blog. In this I hope to share my thoughts about various products, websites, and world happenings. I hope any who read this gain something from it. Well, without further ado, here I go.

The first item on today's docket has to be baseball. Mo

    Schoolis in full force
Kelley and I have dived into school full-time at the University of Bellevue (probably a good reason why this is the first post in almost two months). We are finally getting into some sort of routine here in Nebraska. Kelley has a part-time job that is working out well for her and providing us a nice financial boost. I want to welcome my fellow college students who will be visiting this website (as it is now my class project). Please look around and enjoy. Suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Thank you for stopping by.

    Welcome to Nebraska
Kelley and I finally arrived in Nebraska almost two weeks ago and we are finally getting settled in. The base housing units we were offered turned out to be dumps, so we got a nice apartment instead. You can see our pool by looking at August's pic of the month. We think we have found a church and Kelley is looking for a job and will resume school in about two weeks. I have started my new job and will supervise two troops for the first time. We are loving the high speed internet and digital cable, but we cannot wait for our belongings from Iceland to arrive. Luckily, we both stored away enough items to get us by these first few weeks. Please keep us in your prayers as we adjust to this completely new situation. Buckeye's biography is now online, as well as our new video page. Please go check them out.

    Last post in Iceland
I will follow Kelley to the states in just a few days. I am very excited. Tomorrow, the movers come and then Thursday I leave Iceland for good. It has been a long two years! Our vacation is going to be lots of fun and Nebraska should be good as well. We will have our laptop with us, so expect a few sporadic updates to the website over the next month when we have the time. Also, we will have consistent access to our email, so email me or Kelley already! I want to wish the Detroit Pistons the best of luck in defending their title over the next few days.
