Weight loss requires changing your lifestyle
I totally agree that in order to remain healthy it must be a lifestyle change. There are no days to take off. Every choice we make affects our bodies. No one makes us eat anything. We have to put the utensil that holds the food to our mouth. The choice is entirely in our hands. There are no excus

Trying to stay busy in Texas
If you are married and have had the unfortunate circumstance of being separated from your spouse for months at a time, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of what I am going through right now (provided you actually love your spouse, which I wholeheartedly hope you do).

    In the weeks lea

Trying to sell a house sucks!!!
DJ is doing well in school down in Texas. Kelley is struggling remaining happy as she takes care of the animals and keeps the house spotless for house showings. She cannot wait until someone says they want to make an offer. Feel free to check out our add. We worked really hard getting this house ready before DJ had to leave. Pass the word along. Link

    Texas is OK, I guess
So, I have been here in Texas for 2 weeks now and it is overall a mixed bag. The worst part, of course, is being separated from Kelley for such a long time. Besides that, there is not a ton to complain about. My Internet connection is crushingly slow, I share a shower and a toilet with my neighbor, and a couple other things, but nothing overwhelming. At least the weather is pretty nice, my class is not too demanding, and the local area and base has enough to meet my needs. Our house is officially for sale - let's hope it sells quick!

    Busy Times
The house is slowly getting back to order. The walls are almost done. The floors will be done this weekend. DJ and Kelley are trying to stay strong as they know the days they will have together are dwindling. Pray for us!

    When it rains, it pours
Forgive me for the cliched title, but it does fit. The last few weeks have been a test of our resolve and patience when it comes to things, and more importantly, things breaking.

It started a few months ago with the floor of our master bathroom tub developing a crack. Since it is a one pie

    Prayer
    1. Prayer is communication with/to God. When I pray, I tell Him how thankful I am for various things. (I can never be too thankful, especially because I cannot repay Him.) I make requests not really for physical things, but for help, wisdom, patience, self-control. etc I can pray anywhere. If I am

Long promised changes are finally arriving
For a long time now I have been saying that I was going to upgrade this site in various ways, and for a long time I have not been doing so. About a week ago that finally began to change. If you notice anything buggy about the site, it is because I am tweaking the look of it and overhauling the guts of it. The end result will be amazing, though. Once the changes are complete, I will write a blog about it and send an email to everyone explaining everything. Check back soon!

    Bah Humbug
We truly are not against Christmas at all. It is just that during this time, life is not normal. We are busy preparing the house for selling purposes. All the while, we are trying to enjoy every minute we have together before DJ leaves for retraining in February. We are watching a lot of movies and trying to reach our goal weight by June 2009 when DJ returns from school. Dribble (our dog) is testing our patience, but also building our character as we care for him.

So, this website is still alive?
Contrary to how it has seemed over the last several months, yes. I have been very busy with my other project, The Awesome Theory, that I have neglected this site. The good news is that my work over there has taught me some amazing skills that I can use to make this site MUCH better. The biggest thing will be to make this site much easier to keep up on. I can automate so much more stuff. So, a redesign is coming soon, but the overall look will likely remain nearly the same. Kelley and I are doing great - we have a new dog who is a handful and we are busy. I just made TSgt, so I am thrilled about that. Email us or something!

    Awesome or Stupid?
Anyone who has been here on a semi-regular basis will easily realize that updates have been sparse over the last month or two. There are a couple reasons for this - first, the work to recover from getting hosed by Gisol. Second, I have been working on another site with a friend of mine - The Awesome Theory. It is a humor community site that is pretty hilarious. Please go check it out.

    Explanation of recent downtime
Recent visits to this site may have been met with an "account suspended" notice. Well, the cause was sinister and the reason very lengthy - read the full story. The quick summary is that my old web host tried to scam me and I had to leave for a reputable company. You can never be too careful, and I was not careful enough. As I type this, Kelley is on her way to St. Louis for the Joyce Meyer conference. Other than this scam problem, everything has been going pretty well. The Lions are 2-0 and Michigan finally won a game. The Tigers are just about out of the playoffs, though. Stardust was an amazing movie, by the way, see it when you have the chance.

Do Not Let This Happen to You
If you have visited this website lately, you probably noticed that it was down for a while and then when it came back up, it was somewhat messed up for a while. This is a story of why that happened and I hope it serves as a warning to anyone who hopes to start hosting a web site in the future.

    This summer is just nuts
This summer has been the busiest I can remember and it is not slowing down anytime soon. Since the last update, we went to a pool party, had three large gatherings at our house (one was a BBQ), went to an all day concert event for the 4th of July, several movies, and we just got back from a weekend at Ranch Camp Timberlake, 130 miles West of Omaha. It was a great time that included a camp fire, friends, pizza pies, s'mores, an obstacle course, horseback riding, swimming, the blob, a water slide, and some amazing church services. It was awesome. The summer is not over yet, though, much more is to come. This website is coming along nicely; the picture database is up to 900 pictures, and I added a Contact Us form to make feedback easier. Look for the ability to comment on pages and rate photos soon.

    Vacations are exhausting
Kelley and I recently got back from a vacation to Ohio to attend her brother's wedding and gosh, it was exhausting. We drove over 20 hours there and back, went to an amusement park, a baseball game, a museum, and a wedding during the course of five days. To read more about the details of our trip, check out this blog entry. We also got new cell phones, Kelley had a group lunch with ConAgra's CEO, I got moved to a new office and found out that I missed my next promotion. It was pretty close, though, and my first time trying - almost no one makes it on the first time - so I am ok about that. This summer is going to be very busy, but I am going to try and keep up with updates as best I can. Wish me luck and drop us a line sometime!
