29 Jun 2009Packing up the houseToday begins the packing up of our life here in Nebraska. We are excited for the opportunities available in Georgia. However, we must be patient because we are not actually leaving the area until July 9th. Kelley is enjoying the fact that she does not have to work again till she finds a job in GA. DJ only has a few work days left. We have been talking about the details of this life changing event for 9 months now. Let's get on with it!

Read the rest...- 29 May 2009Last weekend in TexasWell, I finally done with class, now I just have to wait around until Monday to graduate. Worst schedule ever, in my opinion, but what can you do? This last week was grueling, and I missed most of day feeling deathly sick, but I am better now and super excited to get home. This weekend will involve exercising, packing, and getting my uniforms ready to go for the ceremony on Monday. I should be on my way home by 11am on the 1st. Yes!
Comment on/rate this... - 23 May 2009Worst Memorial Day Weekend Ever!!!Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! DJ and I are not the happiest about it though. As a result of the holiday, it delays DJ returning to Nebraska by three days. Despite that fact, we are anxiously awaiting our reunion. We have plans to take our dog and go to Worlds of Fun amusement park in KC for a special getaway. We both feel that we deserve to treat ourselves to a nice vacation after going through over 100 days of being apart. We would not wish this on anyone. Thank you soldiers for all you do for us!
Comment on/rate this... - 2 May 20091 Month until I return!I will return to the Omaha area exactly 1 month from today and I am very excited! It seems like ages since I left and knowing that my ordeal is almost over is a big boost. My class is going very well - I am tops in the class so far and expect to stay that way. The fact that summer movie season has started helps, since I love movies and they not only help distract me from how long I have left, but serve as markers to denote how little time I have left. I am very excited for our future as we tackle the unknown that is Georgia and the South.

Overall, we both believe that we have been able to use this time and make some good out of it. DJ is blasting away his exams and I am working on reaching my ultimate weight goal. My deadline is June 2nd when DJ is to return to Nebraska. We would like to thank everyone for their support during this time. We are so glad it is almost over. We are both excited to see what Georgia has in store for us.

Comment on/rate this... - 22 Feb 2009Texas is OK, I guessSo, I have been here in Texas for 2 weeks now and it is overall a mixed bag. The worst part, of course, is being separated from Kelley for such a long time. Besides that, there is not a ton to complain about. My Internet connection is crushingly slow, I share a shower and a toilet with my neighbor, and a couple other things, but nothing overwhelming. At least the weather is pretty nice, my class is not too demanding, and the local area and base has enough to meet my needs. Our house is officially for sale - let's hope it sells quick!

Read the rest... - 12 Jan 2009Long promised changes are finally arrivingFor a long time now I have been saying that I was going to upgrade this site in various ways, and for a long time I have not been doing so. About a week ago that finally began to change. If you notice anything buggy about the site, it is because I am tweaking the look of it and overhauling the guts of it. Comment on/rate this... - 21 Dec 2008Bah HumbugWe truly are not against Christmas at all. It is just that during this time, life is not normal. We are busy preparing the house for selling purposes. All the while, we are trying to enjoy every minute we have together before DJ leaves for retraining in February. We are watching a lot of movies and trying to reach our goal weight by June 2009 when DJ returns from school. Dribble (our dog) is testing our patience, but also building our character as we care for him.
