15 Oct 2009Still Going...Sometimes it is just hard to do things like make news posts on here, and update Facebook and Twitter status and such. I can't say there is nothing going on, but it is just hard to boil it down into a couple sentences. I am trying to get up to speed at work, but it is hard because it is a brand new career field that is pretty technical (and somewhat boring). Plus, I keep having extra things thrown at me that distract me from learning my job. I am continuing to work on this site and make it better - right now I am building my own forum. Once I go to the midnight shift at work I should have more time to get all that done.

Read the rest...- 16 Aug 2009Time flies when you are unpacking a houseIt seems like just a few days ago we closed on the house, but tomorrow it will have been two weeks. The house is still in mild disarray, with two bedrooms basically unusable due to the still packed, or unpacked and unorganized stuff remaining in them. The rest of the house is in mostly working order, however. I have finished my initial training and in-processing, and thus I go to my real work center for the first time tomorrow morning. It should be interesting!

Read the rest... - 27 Jul 2009New house closing and website upgradesWe are extremely excited to report that we are closing on our new house a week from today. We took some pictures of it during the inspection, and it came out really clean on that. The house is in really good shape and overall it is nicer than our previous house in just about every way. Also, I have spent a lot of time this past week upgrading this site once again. It is looking much more professional and has increased functionality. Of course, more is to come so stay tuned!

Read the rest... - 29 May 2009Last weekend in TexasWell, I finally done with class, now I just have to wait around until Monday to graduate. Worst schedule ever, in my opinion, but what can you do? This last week was grueling, and I missed most of day feeling deathly sick, but I am better now and super excited to get home. This weekend will involve exercising, packing, and getting my uniforms ready to go for the ceremony on Monday. I should be on my way home by 11am on the 1st. Yes!
Comment on/rate this... - 23 May 2009Worst Memorial Day Weekend Ever!!!Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! DJ and I are not the happiest about it though. As a result of the holiday, it delays DJ returning to Nebraska by three days. Despite that fact, we are anxiously awaiting our reunion. We have plans to take our dog and go to Worlds of Fun amusement park in KC for a special getaway. We both feel that we deserve to treat ourselves to a nice vacation after going through over 100 days of being apart. We would not wish this on anyone. Thank you soldiers for all you do for us!
Comment on/rate this... - 2 May 20091 Month until I return!I will return to the Omaha area exactly 1 month from today and I am very excited! It seems like ages since I left and knowing that my ordeal is almost over is a big boost. My class is going very well - I am tops in the class so far and expect to stay that way. The fact that summer movie season has started helps, since I love movies and they not only help distract me from how long I have left, but serve as markers to denote how little time I have left. I am very excited for our future as we tackle the unknown that is Georgia and the South.

Overall, we both believe that we have been able to use this time and make some good out of it. DJ is blasting away his exams and I am working on reaching my ultimate weight goal. My deadline is June 2nd when DJ is to return to Nebraska. We would like to thank everyone for their support during this time. We are so glad it is almost over. We are both excited to see what Georgia has in store for us.
