    Goals
DJ and I are so close to our weight goals. It is great that we have been able to share in this journey. I have such a wonderful husband. I am so proud of his accomplishments. I cannot thank him enough for his companionship and love. I love you DJ!
Challenge: DJ offered motivation to reach my goal. I must weight in 3 weeks in a row under my goal weight and I "win" an iPad. I am super motivated! Thanks DJ!

Road to excellent health step 1 complete
I took my bi-annual fitness test yesterday and scored a 90.2, my highest ever. 90+ is in the excellent category. One year ago I scored a 76.5 - quite a huge difference! I finished the 1.5 mile run in 12 minutes - which was one of my ultimate fitness goals. I have also lost around 10 pounds, with only 10 more to meet that ultimate goal.

In non-fitness related news, I got a new phone yesterday, a Droid Thunderbolt, and it is pretty sweet. Kelley is working a ton, it is her busy season. She is kicking butt, though, because she is awesome.

    Yeah, we're nuts!
In case you didn't know, Kelley and I get up between 4:15 and 4:45 every weekday morning and start working out by 5:15. On the weekends we get up later - maybe as late as 6:30, and we run 3-5 miles each day (weather allowing). We ran our first 10k a few weeks ago, and we'll run our second in 2 1/2 weeks. We are in the best shape that we have been in many years and it feels great! Life might be super busy and there never feels like there is enough time in the day, but working out is worth it and we enjoy it.

    So Much Going On!
Kelley went home for a visit for her birthday this weekend and went to the regular season Ohio State basketball finale and watched them crush Wisconsin. She had a great time, but I am very glad she will be in home in a couple hours.

I take my promotion test for Master Sergeant tomorrow morning - good luck to me! I also just bought a car a week ago - a 2011 Chevy Malibu - it is super nice.

Kelley are both doing great on fitness and health, and this Saturday we are both running in a local charitable 10k! It will be the farthest either of us have ever ran. Awesome times!

    DJ Returns Home
DJ received a distinguished graduate honor at NCOA. He is leaving Tennessee today to return home to Augusta. He is certainly ready to spend time with his wife. We are curious about what the rest of 2011 will turn out, but we plan on taking it one day at a time. We do not know the future, but we know the one who does and that is all we need to know.

    Halfway there... almost
Tomorrow mark 3 weeks until I graduate from the NCO Academy. This weekend mark the halfway point, and to celebrate I am coming home for the weekend. 11 hours of round trip driving is a small price to pay to see my awesome wife for a couple days. I very much look forward to the break from this place. It is stressful at times, and generally unfun as all military training environments tend to be.

2011 - Starts out with Separation
DJ will be leaving me on January 3rd for NCO Academy in Knoxville, Tennessee. He will be there for a total of 6 weeks. Thankfully, he will be able to come back and visit. I will be responsible for our 4 furry babies which can sometimes be a challenge. It is the cooking and cleaning that is even worse. DJ spoils me and I LOVE it that way. My employer will keep me busy in January. I am moving to a new off-site warehouse and there are many questions how this will change my job. I am so happy I love my job. I wish everyone the best for 2010!

    The Game is tomorrow
The annual Michigan vs. Ohio State match up happens again tomorrow. Once again, Michigan is given very little chance to win. Michigan can make its season tomorrow, or, regardless of the bowl result, have a slightly disappointing one. I just hope our offense has the ball with a chance to win late.
Kelley and I have been doing awesome in our fitness routine lately - I am nearly in the best shape of my life, or at least since I was 16. We have been running outside in 60+ degree weather despite it being late November. Crazy weather!

    Big events around the corner
Big news: I'll be going to the Air Force NCO Academy from January 4th until February 10th. It is at some AF National Guard base in Tennessee, around 6 hours from Augusta. I am not a fan of being away from Kelley and home for 6 weeks, but we knew this was coming eventually so why not get it over with.

I recently scored an 88.1 on my fitness test, a huge accomplishment considering I had never scored better than 79.5 before now. If I complete the 1.5 mile run 7 seconds faster and do 2 more push ups, I'll get a 90 and be considered in excellent shape. That is my goal for next April.

Michigan won its first football game in a month and will be going to a bowl game this year again, finally!

    Good things must end eventually
Michigan lost its first football game of the season today to its hated rival, Michigan State. That really stinks, but I knew Michigan was going to lose some games this year.

I won NCO of the Quarter for my squadron for the third quarter, 2010. I haven't done that since 2006, so that is pretty cool. I also weight the least that I have since near that same time. Good timing on that since my PT test is in a little over 2 weeks. Overall things are going well!

At least change is always constant
Seems like out situation is constantly changing. Not always in bad ways, not even close, but in unexpected ways many times. Kelley has decided not to pursue her Masters degree after all. 3 years of misery is not her idea of a good time and I agree. We started a bowling league last night after 1 year off and I did terribly, but Kelley did well. I have a new computer on the way and I pretty stoked about it. I start teaching my first class all by myself in 2 weeks. Work is hectic, but not too bad. We are starting to invest with a financial adviser - craziness!

    Kelley Starts Grad School Monday!!!
I have high expectations from pursuing a graduate degree. I hope that it will provide me with knowledge to understand clearly how international business began and where it is going. I believe that after gaining this knowledge, I can play a more active role in my current position as well as make me increasingly marketable for the future. I am not certain as to what opportunities this degree will open, but I hope to one day be a manager.

    June recap
Wow, June was an interesting month. I started back to work after a 4 week layoff at the end of May, so getting back into the groove at work took much of June. It was also super hot here in Augusta for pretty much the whole month. We saw a couple good movies - The A-Team (super awesome) and Toy Story 3 (good). We went to Atlanta to see the Tigers come to town and lose on a bad call in the 9th inning. The umpire even admitted as much after the game.

I went to Denver for a class at the end of June, and just got back yesterday. It was a nice experience, mostly because I got to see my sister Tracy and my two nephews. My hotel was really nice also - my room was a suite!

Our tenants in our rental home finally moved out yesterday and left the house a dump. Luckily, we have a good property manager who is helping us get things cleaned up before our next tenant comes in. We are probably going to have to spend at least $1,000 to get it move-in ready, though. Ah, the joys of being a rental property owner! We are looking forward to a great July!

How did I get here from there?
Ever notice how sometimes you find yourself in a place that just a few years ago you could have never predicted it? That is what I find myself in these days. Kelley and I get up on weekday mornings at 4:30 and start working out by 5, usually for an hour. On the weekends we "sleep in" until 6. We now try to eat organic food as much as possible and use more Earth friendly cleaning supplies and stuff. Never would have seen myself like this, but I am more fit and healthy than I have been in at least 13 years and I like it.

Otherwise we are doing well - Kelley is back up and going from heart surgery and loves her job. I am going to take charge of my shop at work in a few months. We are doing very well and loving life. My backyard landscaping project is coming along - I hope to post pictures of that soon.

    Back and busier than ever
I have been home for a few days now from my three week business trip to teach a class in Kentucky. I took a week off from work, but that doesn't mean I am just sitting around. I have been massively busy from the moment I got home. Aside from the mandatory catching up with Kelley, I have been doing chores around the house, getting a delivery of bricks and mulch for a lawn project, doing yard work and mowing the lawn, stopping by work to take care of things (have to do that again soon), and a 100 other things.

On top of all that, Kelley is kicking my butt with her crazy workouts. I have been more sore in the last 4 days than I ever remember being for so many days in a row. She is crazy! We just did her latest checkup for her heart yesterday and she has a full clean bill of health and has zero restrictions. Plus, she can stop taking Plavix soon, which makes her bruise really easily. Overall, things are going great and getting better!
