    Not even close
I test for my next promotion back in February and I found out my results on May 17th. I thought that I would either make it or miss it by a close margin, and I was about 60/40 in thinking that I made it. Well, I didn't make it, and I wasn't even close. I missed it by 5 points last year, and by 27.5 points this year. I bombed the test worse than I've ever bombed a test before. I don't know why - I studied more this year than last. This will definitely increase my motivation to study even more next year, though. 3rd time is the charm, right?

    And down goes the dream
So, it looks like I am not going to the Air Force Institute of Technology this year after all. In a way I am surprised, and in a way I am not. It is disappointing, that is for sure. The early thought is to give it a try again next year in I make MSgt in May. If not, then it looks like I will start a Masters program in my spare time sometime soon, probably in the fall. Looks like we staying in Georgia for at least the next 16 months.

    Still waiting... still
Well, the time we were supposed to find out about moving to Ohio has come and gone and still we don't know. Some research has revealed this is not unusual. So, we continue to wait and basically do nothing to prepare for our future, since we will do completely different things if we are going to Ohio in 6 months then if we were to stay here for likely a couple more years yet.

In other news, I just ran a 10k with my best time ever - 1:05:06. Kelley is visiting the family in Ohio. Both of our work situations are fairly crazy right now, but hopefully they will calm down soon. We may make a trip to Colorado for more family visiting soon. Not long after that, a trip to Cedar Point is possible. All in all, it is shaping up to be an eventful spring and summer!

    Still waiting
Any day now we should know more about what our future holds. Are we going to move to Ohio in September, or stay here for likely another couple years or more? I honestly have no idea which way it is going to go, nor which way would be best for us. We are just trusting that God will work out what is best for us.

In other news, Kelley's job is going well, but she is working a ton! Good for the bank account, though. I test for Master Sergeant (E-7) on March 7th. If I make it I'll get promoted in about a year, maybe a few months longer. I'll find out results on that in May. I am moving into a new building at work in a couple weeks. Looking forward to it - the new building is much nicer - go figure!

    It is official!
I am so glad to share that I am now hired on as an International Parts and Accessories Coordinator at E-Z-GO in Augusta, GA. I have been a contractor at this same job for a little over two years. I am currently focusing on brushing up my Spanish so I can communicate better with customers in Mexico etc. DJ and I are doing well with exercising consistently. It has been a struggle as of late, but we are not giving up. We believe our hard work will pay off.

    Another year winds down
As another year is almost over, we naturally reflect on the previous year and look forward to the next. I just completed my Enlisted to AFIT package, which if I am selected would mean a move to Ohio in August or September of 2012 for at least 18 months. Very exciting!

We ran a half marathon this year, then saw our fitness go to crap, and now we try to build back up to do another one or more this year. One thing is for certain - we have no doubt that 2012 will be better than 2011 - bring it on!

Another edition of "The Game" in the books
One of the biggest events on the calendar for us, "The Game" between Michigan and Ohio State, was played yesterday with Michigan the winner for the first time since 2003, and only the third time (out of 11 tries) since Kelley and I started dating. This game puts me in a tough position every year. I want my team to win very badly, but I hate seeing Kelley so upset. It has been so long since we won that I cannot remember how long she was upset about it back in 2003 before things got back to normal, more or less. I know next year will be tough, probably playing against an Urban Meyer coached team in Columbus, but I think we'll be ready. Here's to a renewed rivalry!

    No More School
I thought I wanted a master's degree, but I was not willing to put in the effort it took to get it. My job is quite demanding at times. For example, I worked 50 hours this week. School does not gel. Time is so precious. There will be more things to do than time allows. I must make the best choice for me. It does not include school.

    International Business-Liberty University Online
Kelley completed her second graduate course. It was not pretty. I will make sure to not let any other course go through such torturous nights. I have one week to recoup before I begin Managerial Technology. I am quite interested as to what the paper topic will be. Let's hope for the best.

    Recovering from Half Marathon
DJ and I are back from our vacation to Ohio. The first week back was a challenge. It is a challenge to get back to normal. I do not necessarily want to return to normal, but better than that. I am a woman of high standards. I have high goals. I do not handle it well when I fall short. My focus right now is to keep challenging myself to reach my weight loss goal and finish a 16 page research paper for my International Business course. I can do this! I am certainly feeling the pressure.

    International Business-Liberty University Online
I am in my third week of my first course at Liberty University Online. I tried this graduate program deal last year and gave up during the third week. I CANNOT do that again. It cost us some money and headache. I am working on an annotated bibliography for my 16 page research paper due in 5 weeks. I CAN DO THIS! Lots of prayer and dedication will get me over this hurdle. What does not kill me only makes me stronger. I am my own worst enemy. I am not good with gray areas. There is no one correct way to do this, but there is certainly a wrong way. It is that fear of not doing it well enough that plagues me. I CAN DO THIS!!!

The big run is closing in
The biggest news is that our half marathon/mini vacation is only 5 weeks away. We ran 8 miles yesterday and will increase that by 1 mile each week until the race. Our goal is just to finish without walking. It will be a challenge, but I know we can do it.

Work continues to be work, with all it little stresses and drama for the both of us. We are thankful we have jobs and we know it could be much worse. We have not done much in the weight loss area, but we know we are getting in better shape with all the running we have been doing: over 23 miles this week!

The other big news is that Kelley starts back up at her Master's degree in a week or so - that will be a huge challenge, but I know she is up to it!

    Old school
Kelley are I are going to the drive in tomorrow night to see Captain America and Transformers 3 - we'll have to get there early, but it should be a good time. We just got a new stove, and need a new printer, screen door, and various other house fixes - our house is falling apart! Not really, but it is frustrating to have it all come at once.

We are still on track to do our first half marathon on September 17th in Dayton, Ohio. We are excited! We are working our tails off to get ready.

    Keep on rolling
Last weekedn Kelley and I went went to Carowinds, an amusement park in South Carolina, where Rock the Park, a Christian concert, was taking place. We had a good, albeit tiring, time. It took several days for us to get back to normal, but we are back on track.

I lost 2 pounds this week to reach my all-time low of 179! We continue to hit the workouts hard in preparation for our first (and maybe only) half marathon in September. Also, I am heading home to TC this Sunday for 4 days for my first visit in 4 years. Exciting!

The beginning of a fun summer
This past weekend marked the beginning of a fun filled summer for us - the first in several years. We went to Atlanta for a Reds vs. Braves baseball game, and while there went to the World of Coca-Cola, Georgia Aquarium, and stayed at a Hilton that was pretty swanky.

We have several more events on tap: in 3 weeks we are going to Charlotte to an amusement park that is holding a big concert, then I am going to Traverse City for a few days, then we are going on a weekend retreat in the mountains, then to the USAF Marathon, and capping it off with a trip back to Atlanta for Six Flags, touring CNN, and the zoo. It is going to be an awesome few months!
