    Happy Birthday to me!
Another year goes by and I am even older now. I had a supremely delicious lunch at a local pizza place (Mellow Mushroom), and will be having some pumpkin peanut butter cheesecake for dessert tonight. I don't feel as old as I am and I think that is a good thing. I am getting in better shape and losing weight. I am working on this site frequently and hope to restart on The Awesome Theory site by the end of the year. I am in a class the next three weeks and it should be a nice change of pace for me at work.

    Struggles
God wants, deserves, and demands our best. Why do we keep offering Him our leftovers?

I cannot see God, but I believe that He is real. I can say that so easily, but does my life show that I believe that? Why am I so selfish? I wake up and stretch. I am thankful that my dog is so hyper that he

    Georgia Sucks
Yes, that is right. I said it. Our family does not have a high opinion regarding living in these parts. It seems that the simple things of life are a struggle right now. We are trying our best to focus on the positive. This too shall pass, but hopefully not before one of us does.

    Animal Love
God is teaching me a lot through my animals. I have one dog and two cats. The dog will follow you around. He will sit at your feet and keep them warm. He will snuggle next to you and will stay beside you for hours if you let him. He just wants to be wherever I am. Similarly, God wants to be with us

    Still Going...
Sometimes it is just hard to do things like make news posts on here, and update Facebook and Twitter status and such. I can't say there is nothing going on, but it is just hard to boil it down into a couple sentences. I am trying to get up to speed at work, but it is hard because it is a brand new career field that is pretty technical (and somewhat boring). Plus, I keep having extra things thrown at me that distract me from learning my job. I am continuing to work on this site and make it better - right now I am building my own forum. Once I go to the midnight shift at work I should have more time to get all that done.

    Medical Terminology Course
I recently went to the doctors for my annual exam. The doctor heard a murmur and sent me to have an echocardiogram. I was emotional during the procedure. I had never had anyone mention any issues with my heart. The reality of the situation was awakening. Life is so fragile. As I saw my heart o

Time flies when you are unpacking a house
It seems like just a few days ago we closed on the house, but tomorrow it will have been two weeks. The house is still in mild disarray, with two bedrooms basically unusable due to the still packed, or unpacked and unorganized stuff remaining in them. The rest of the house is in mostly working order, however. I have finished my initial training and in-processing, and thus I go to my real work center for the first time tomorrow morning. It should be interesting!

    Living in Survival Mode
DJ and I have been in Georgia now for a couple of weeks. We are living in a hotel room on the post. Things could certainly be a whole lot worse than they are. We are thankful that we are on the first floor. We do not have anyone living above us. We only have neighbors behind us and our left side. We

New house closing and website upgrades
We are extremely excited to report that we are closing on our new house a week from today. We took some pictures of it during the inspection, and it came out really clean on that. The house is in really good shape and overall it is nicer than our previous house in just about every way. Also, I have spent a lot of time this past week upgrading this site once again. It is looking much more professional and has increased functionality. Of course, more is to come so stay tuned!

    On the new home stretch
I am so happy to share that it is the last Sunday that I will be in Nebraska. As each day passes, I find it easier to be living in this cramped studio lodging. The hardest part has been not getting a good night sleep due to the fact that the cats are able to run around all night. I wish they would

Moving to Georgia Series - day 6
That first day of moving was a cake walk compared to what we have endured since. Day 2 resulted in all of our loose stuff being packed away, which means dishes, clothes, basically everything we were not taking with us. That made making dinner that evening an adventure as items we were used to having

A Week of Less than Optimal in Base Lodging
The latest news on our journey to Georgia is that now we are living in military temporary housing. The major catch about staying here is that we are only supposed to have two pets, but we own three. The animals must be caged up while we are gone. The cats are not used to being caged up at all. W

    Animals - Hide & Seek
Tonight, my youngest cat, Fumble wanted to play a game of hide and seek. DJ and I have just moved into temporary housing. Bonus and Fumble were sitting on top of the fridge for the longest time. Then later in the night, I went looking for Fumble. The space we have is rather small. I was clueless as

    Packing up the house
Today begins the packing up of our life here in Nebraska. We are excited for the opportunities available in Georgia. However, we must be patient because we are not actually leaving the area until July 9th. Kelley is enjoying the fact that she does not have to work again till she finds a job in GA. DJ only has a few work days left. We have been talking about the details of this life changing event for 9 months now. Let's get on with it!
