    Must Raise My Standards
I keep setting my weight goals and saying I want to be down to 130, but I am not doing what it takes to get there. I am not that far away. That is when things get more challenging. The body does not want to give up those last few pounds.

I must use this website for what it is meant for. I ne

    Struggles
God wants, deserves, and demands our best. Why do we keep offering Him our leftovers?

I cannot see God, but I believe that He is real. I can say that so easily, but does my life show that I believe that? Why am I so selfish? I wake up and stretch. I am thankful that my dog is so hyper that he

    Animal Love
God is teaching me a lot through my animals. I have one dog and two cats. The dog will follow you around. He will sit at your feet and keep them warm. He will snuggle next to you and will stay beside you for hours if you let him. He just wants to be wherever I am. Similarly, God wants to be with us

    Medical Terminology Course
I recently went to the doctors for my annual exam. The doctor heard a murmur and sent me to have an echocardiogram. I was emotional during the procedure. I had never had anyone mention any issues with my heart. The reality of the situation was awakening. Life is so fragile. As I saw my heart o

    Living in Survival Mode
DJ and I have been in Georgia now for a couple of weeks. We are living in a hotel room on the post. Things could certainly be a whole lot worse than they are. We are thankful that we are on the first floor. We do not have anyone living above us. We only have neighbors behind us and our left side. We

    On the new home stretch
I am so happy to share that it is the last Sunday that I will be in Nebraska. As each day passes, I find it easier to be living in this cramped studio lodging. The hardest part has been not getting a good night sleep due to the fact that the cats are able to run around all night. I wish they would

Moving to Georgia Series - day 6
That first day of moving was a cake walk compared to what we have endured since. Day 2 resulted in all of our loose stuff being packed away, which means dishes, clothes, basically everything we were not taking with us. That made making dinner that evening an adventure as items we were used to having

A Week of Less than Optimal in Base Lodging
The latest news on our journey to Georgia is that now we are living in military temporary housing. The major catch about staying here is that we are only supposed to have two pets, but we own three. The animals must be caged up while we are gone. The cats are not used to being caged up at all. W

    Animals - Hide & Seek
Tonight, my youngest cat, Fumble wanted to play a game of hide and seek. DJ and I have just moved into temporary housing. Bonus and Fumble were sitting on top of the fridge for the longest time. Then later in the night, I went looking for Fumble. The space we have is rather small. I was clueless as

Moving to Georgia Series - day 1
Today is day 1 of the movers coming to pack up all of our stuff. Surprisingly, only one lady showed up today to start packing our house. She is moving along pretty quickly, however, but she is obviously going to need some help with the furniture.

It is strange having the house be in such d

Weight loss requires changing your lifestyle
I totally agree that in order to remain healthy it must be a lifestyle change. There are no days to take off. Every choice we make affects our bodies. No one makes us eat anything. We have to put the utensil that holds the food to our mouth. The choice is entirely in our hands. There are no excus

Trying to stay busy in Texas
If you are married and have had the unfortunate circumstance of being separated from your spouse for months at a time, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of what I am going through right now (provided you actually love your spouse, which I wholeheartedly hope you do).

    In the weeks lea

    When it rains, it pours
Forgive me for the cliched title, but it does fit. The last few weeks have been a test of our resolve and patience when it comes to things, and more importantly, things breaking.

It started a few months ago with the floor of our master bathroom tub developing a crack. Since it is a one pie

    Prayer
    1. Prayer is communication with/to God. When I pray, I tell Him how thankful I am for various things. (I can never be too thankful, especially because I cannot repay Him.) I make requests not really for physical things, but for help, wisdom, patience, self-control. etc I can pray anywhere. If I am

Do Not Let This Happen to You
If you have visited this website lately, you probably noticed that it was down for a while and then when it came back up, it was somewhat messed up for a while. This is a story of why that happened and I hope it serves as a warning to anyone who hopes to start hosting a web site in the future.
